Childbirth Education Teaching Philosophy
The labor and birthing process is unique to each individual.
Respect and support is provided for any birthing method or
birthing options chosen. Classes are approached as blank canvases.
This canvas will develop through active participation and
discussion from the group or individual. Each class will take
on dimension and will possess a signature style of it's own.
Thoughts on labor and birth....
- The experience of childbirth will affect a woman for a
lifetime.
- Education will strengthen your confidence to speak on
your own behalf.
- Support person/s are integral to the success of this process.
- Women have a right to give birth free from routine medical
interventions.
- Trusting in your body and your inner wisdom will help
guide you through labor and birth.
- Women have the right to choose where and how they give
birth.
Class fees and availability....
Private classes are $65/hour and they must be prepaid. An
additional travel fee may apply if client resides outside
of Clark County. A minimum of two hours is required to schedule
a class. The class content will be soley based on your personal
needs and on the amount of time desired for instruction. An
intake form and short personal interview will help you decide
what areas you would like to focus your educational time in.
Group classes are available one Saturday every other month.
Classes are limited to four individuals and their support
person. Classes may be cancelled if there are not enough registrants.
The class day is seven hours with six hours being education
and the additional hour for lunch and breaks.
The cost is $125 per couple and includes lunch and materials.
Fees must be pre-paid.
